Charles V. (Ted) Dodge, 91, Ahsahka retiree

      AHSAHKA -- Charles V. (Ted) Dodge, 91, of Ahsahka, a retired Clearwater County road department employee, died Monday of causes related to age at his home here.
      He was born Feb. 6, 1905, at Murray, Idaho. He moved to the Ahsahka area when he was 10 and attended the Loseth School at Dent, now at the bottom of Dworshak Reservoir, through the eighth grade.
      He worked at various jobs in the woods and was a firefighter and smokechaser.
      He married Zelma Walker at Orofino Aug. 31, 1929. He was a bouncer at Bowler's Bar at Ahsahka and worked for the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office before going to work at the road department. He worked there for 19 years before retiring.
      He then worked for many years with his son in the woods hauling short logs. He remained active and rode his four-wheeler until last year.
      His wife died Aug. 21, 1993.
      He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He was the oldest living "North Forker" those who lived along the North Fork of the Clearwater River at the annual reunion at Ahsahka last year.
      He is survived by three sons, James and Robert Dodge, both of Ahsahka, and Thomas Dodge of Juliaetta; three daughters, Lorna Toy of Seattle, Sharon Learned of Spokane and Louise Hamrick of Benton City, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
      Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
      Pine Hills Funeral Chapel at Orofino is making the arrangements.
